Although the key focus of Enable has been to support our member organisations within Nottinghamshire, we have one team that directly supports local people in the Bassetlaw district to move people into work. They are based at The Crossing in Worksop and provide support across Bassetlaw. These projects are very successful because our team works closely with clients and tailor their support to the client's needs.  Our work is funded through two different contracts, Flexible Routeways and Flexible New Deal.

This gives us an understanding and appreciation of working directly with disadvantaged groups, which is the main focus for most of our members. It is also helpful when rolling out new employment contracts as we can trial different approaches and ideas.

Flexible Routeways

We are one of the Bassetlaw delivery partners for Working Links delivering on Flexible Routeways. This contract enables us to provide the support necessary to move people with a variety of barriers to work closer to getting into employment. This service is available to everyone that is out of work and clients can self refer or go through their local Jobcentre Plus office.

Flexible New Deal

We are working with Ingeus to deliver FND clients who are from Worksop and Retford. This is a mandatory programme of support which is provided after a person has been on Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) for a period over 12 months.

We provide these clients with the job search support necessary to move closer to the labour market as well as identifying and securing an appropriate work placement delivery during the 12 weeks that they are with us.

We hope that these clients will secure employment following on from their work placements as a result of the additional experience which can be added to their CVs.

In June 2010 the government announced the first information about the new Work Programme. The new Work Programme will be rolled out during the first part of 2011. Enable will work to be involved in the delivery of the new Work Programme as details emerge.
