In this context work place learning is defined as "any learning aim predominately delivered in the workplace and in connection with an employed learner's occupation or their employer's business including functional skills". At the same time the funding will enable Voluntary and Community Sector organisations to develop individuals within their workforce to expand their roles or take up new roles that will support their organisation's sustainability and growth.

 

Enable's new Work Place Learning Contract focuses on employed staff aged 19+ that have no qualifications or are qualified below level 2, offering them qualifications relevant to their employer's current and future business needs. The provision available under this contract, following initial assessment, will be the delivery of vocational regulated units and qualifications that appear on the Register of Regulated Qualifications website for;

• Functional Skills (Maths and English) Qualifications (Organisations with 1-999 employees)
• L1 certificate Qualifications (Organisations with 1-999 employees)
• L2 certificate Qualifications (Organisations with 1-999 employees)
• L3 certificate Qualifications (19-24 year olds employed in SMEs 1-250 employees)

The aim of the learning is to increase the contribution each employee makes to the success of their organisation and improve their employment status by moving from;

• Temporary to permanent employment
• Taking on new responsibilities or getting promoted
• Increasing their hours of work from part-time to full-time
• Progressing onto an Apprenticeship
• Progressing to a higher level skills training start (not funded through this project)

The support is available to all employed staff that are located in the East Midlands region or who themselves reside in the East Midlands.
